Designed and made in Hawaiʻi with responsibly sourced materials, Kuʻu ʻAnoʻi creates beloved adornments that are made to fit and made to last.

ʻAnoʻilani Aga, owner and designer of Kuʻu ʻAnoʻi, infuses cultural perspectives into modern fashion, creating a narrative that celebrates diversity and heritage.

Born and raised in Waipiʻo, Oʻahu, ʻAnoʻilani’s love for fashion and sewing began at the young age of 11. Making her first pāʻū skirt with the guidance of her mother and grandmother, she continued sewing and soon enough embraced fashion as a hobby.

While pursuing a professional career in the corporate world, ʻAnoʻilani found that Hawaiʻi business apparel both suitable in business professional settings while fitting her body type was always a difficult endeavor. Thus birthed the idea of Kuʻu ʻAnoʻi.

What initially started off as a hobby quickly grew into a passion project. She continued to hone her sewing and design skills at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa earning her second bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. During her studies, she interned with renowned Hawaiʻi and Project Runway designer, Kini Zamora, who continues to mentor and inspire her journey.

ʻAnoʻilani's design philosophy centers around her connection to her Hawaiian identity, self-expression and empowerment. She believes that fashion is a powerful tool for storytelling and strives to create pieces that inspire confidence and individuality. Her designs draw inspiration from Hawaiian culture, hula, language, and nature, resulting in a distinctive and personal touch.
